{"id":21,"date":"2008-06-19T16:09:45","date_gmt":"2008-06-19T21:09:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/journal\/?p=21"},"modified":"2008-06-19T16:09:45","modified_gmt":"2008-06-19T21:09:45","slug":"farm-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/hayloft\/farm-june\/","title":{"rendered":"Farm, June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Here&#8217;s some of what&#8217;s going on at our farm in Oak Hill, New York:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/farm\/imgs\/june_08\/apples_in_june.jpg\" title=\"apple tree\" alt=\"apple tree\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The apple trees are full of young fruit.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/farm\/imgs\/june_08\/cherries_in_june.jpg\" title=\"cherry tree\" alt=\"cherry tree\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As is the cherry tree.<\/p>\n<p>The test garden I worked compost in to is growing pretty well. We&#8217;ve got arugula, mustard, snap peas, and kale all looking strong:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/farm\/imgs\/june_08\/arugula_in_june.jpg\" title=\"arugula\" alt=\"arugula\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/farm\/imgs\/june_08\/mustard_in_june.jpg\" title=\"mustard\" alt=\"mustard\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/farm\/imgs\/june_08\/snap_peas_in_june.jpg\" title=\"snap peas\" alt=\"snap peas\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/farm\/imgs\/june_08\/kale_in_june.jpg\" title=\"kale\" alt=\"kale\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t do anything to improve the soil in the other test garden, and consequently it looks like a desert:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pigandegg.com\/farm\/imgs\/june_08\/garden_2_june.jpg\" title=\"sigh\" alt=\"bare garden\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s some of what&#8217;s going on at our farm in Oak Hill, New York: The apple trees are full of young fruit.
